We all went to the public pool today, and it was great. I’m going to guess Kyle blogs about US vs CAD pools and how much fun we had, so I’ll leave that to him. What I will say is, the kids are well on their way to to being confident swimmers.
We knew that since we’re moving so close to the lake it was important that the kids learn to swim. Petra will have no problem with regular classes, but Elijah will need private lessons. There’s no way he’ll be able to wait for his turn after 7 other kids, plus he needs someone who can make eye contact give directions and have him execute it immediately, because 5 minutes later he’s forgotten what you asked him. I think private lessons are the answer for Elijah. He deserves to learn the same things as other kids his age and acquire the same skills.
The only issue is Petra’s ten lessons to complete the first level for he age group is just under 50 dollars, Elijah to complete the same ten lesson will be just over 250 dolars. Tomorrow I speak to to the lessons co-ordinator to see what can be done finatially, if we sign up for ten lesson. So cross your fingers that there’s a more affordable alternative for him
